제안공모 실시설계를 바탕으로 설계를 진행*

팽성읍 주민과 미군의 접점이 일어나고 전통성의 컨텍스트가 이어지는 대상지에 그들의 커뮤니티 완충공간을 만들어주고자 하였고,

과거 외부인과 주인이 접객을 하던 공간인 전통 마당에서 착안하여 컨셉을 정하게 되었습니다.

마당은 행랑채에서 안채로 갈수록 경사가 증가하며,

마당과 채를 번갈아 지나며 공적인 공간에서 사적인 공간으로 변한다는 성격이 있습니다

이러한 특징들을 대상지에 접목시켜 외부인이 외부공간에서 시설 내부로, 공간이 자연스럽게 전이되도록 프로그램들을 복합화시키고자 하였습니다.
